About Us
In Town® was founded in late 2021 by Barbara Baldini and Giles Hawke two professionals from within the travel industry and themselves highly experienced business travellers. In Town® was born from their own experiences when travelling for work, and through discussions with colleagues and peers who had similar experiences. They recognised that travelling for business can be a lonely experience and full of wasted opportunities when visiting exciting and far-flung destinations around the world, so the In Town® concept was born.
We considered what it would be like to be able to meet with like-minded business travellers on trips and to be able to enjoy local restaurants and bars, instead of room service or to be able to meet someone for a run, take in a show or even share a taxi to and from the airport. We developed the In Town® platform to do just that’.
Since then, we have worked hard to create a networking app for business travellers, making business travel more enjoyable and offering the opportunity to broaden our knowledge and experiences by meeting with others in a similar situation when we do have free time on our busy business travel schedules.
Giles Hawke
Giles has spent his entire career in the leisure travel industry and has been fortunate enough to travel the globe with his work. He is focused on making the most out of every opportunity, finding ways to help others combine their career and their personal life, so that they can maximise every moment.
Barbara Baldini
Barbara’s career has been within both the legal profession and more recently in the leisure travel industry. She is an operational expert, a real problem solver, as well as driven and motivated individual aiming to create the best possible work environment for those around her, while striving for perfection in every area of her work.
